Day #89: HaemoChromo No Mo’

After a delicious 3 hours sleep, yes, 3, my sugars this morning were 3.9

I stayed up late last night as the local paper, while they did a good job with the story, they published the url of my blog as: http://cherrysherry.com/juicefeast. So I naturally had to go and buy that domain and redirect it here didn’t I. Once I’d done that I thought I’d spruce up my web portfolio on my web development website (Fortified Media) so I ended up blitzing the whole thing and staying up ’til 4:30am. Silly.

Anyway, I mention all this in my video - which I’ve promised for a couple of days now, so I’ll stop typing for a little while and you can listen and watch instead of read:

I got a good call today from my Doctor too, The news is that I don’t have Haemo Chromatosis. I have Heterozygous Haemo Chromatosis, but not HomoZygous. What that basically means is that only one of my parents passed a duff gene to me, not both, and although I may have slightly raised levels of iron in my blood, it’s rare for someone with only one copy of the mutated gene in question to get Hereditary Haemo Chromatosis.

I met up with a friend for tea downtown and a couple of people that I bumped into said that they’d read the article in the paper and congratulated me on what I was doing. That was nice. But on the large scale of things, I’m glad it’s in the paper so that other people with diabetes can at least start to look at the possibilities that are open to them, in terms of taking charge of their situation and not following the same old path of exercise, oral meds, insulin…etc.

My wife and I started watching the Outlaw Josey Wales tonigt, but I’d forgotten how long it is! So, we’re going to watch the rest tomorrow night, as I needed to update this here blog, and get some serious rest. There’s quite a bit going on tomorrow, but I’ll tell you about that when I get there :)

‘night.

You sound good, you look weird. Way thin. It’s been so long since we met in person I’d prolly pass you in the street without recognising you. You’re a way off the photo at the top. But that’s the journey for you. Best of luck with the last vertical bit. You’re strong. Bring it on. :)
