Day #60: Nuts, Berries and Bullshit

Sugars this morning? 4.2

Well I did go to bed earlier last night, I had my bath and was dropping off reading some buddhist philosophy, all going well. And then… I woke up at 23:30 (I’d only fallen asleep at around 22:20ish) and that was that. I lay there, brain-a-buzzin’ until I couldn’t stand it anymore. So I got up, went downstairs and watched some videos on meditation and the like to try and calm my mind.

It’s like my brain doesn’t realise that I’m awake, and I’m still having all these crazy half dream / half wakened mish mosh of thoughts. Anyway, the meditation did the trick. After a couple of hours I went back up and hit the sack for the second time. I meditated in bed again for a few minutes, and dropped off nicely.

Again, I had more energy today though, now all I need is the sleep and I’ll be superman :)

We had the dry walling done today for the basement / Homeopathy clinic and the garage too, so it’s getting there. My wife and I also had a nice cup of tea downtown and a little stroll. We bumped into a local writer and friend who was asking if it was down to my wife that I was on this diet:

“Did she put you on this nuts, berries and bullshit diet?” he asked, laughing.

I admitted it was all my doing, but we joked about that being a great title for a book: “Nuts, Berries and Bullsht”. Maybe.

Maybe it’s only good for a blog post title.

Before I go, I recently sent my mate Mat in England an email to let him know that Jonathan Coulton was playing in his neck of the woods and he should go if he gets the chance. Well he did! He emailed me a couple of hours ago to let me know it was a great gig and very funny.

If you’ve not heard of Jonathan Coulton, then you’re missing out listen to this taster:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

and then go and buy some of his ridiculously under priced work over at jonathancoulton.com

Also, and I mustn’t forget this, all she’ll kill me :) My wife gave me a recipe to put up on the blog so I have. It’s for “Raw Soup” or “Winter smoothie”, whichever sounds better I guess., and it’s here:

Well, that’s it from me for today. the land of nod beckons - at least for a few hours I hope. (Thanks to Rachel for her comment on the previous post by the way, I’m going to lay off the B Complex in the evening and see how it goes).

καλή νύχτα
