Day #51: Another crap night’s sleep

My sugars this morning were 4.1

I got up pretty early this morning - had real difficulty sleeping soundly. I woke up around 4am with all sort of random thoughts invading my brain. Work and domestic thought, but mostly work.

Anyway I lay in bed thinking, well If I at least stay horizontal, that’s some kind of rest I suppose.

I manage to about 6am and then had to get up, I wasn’t getting anywhere. So I made myself a cup of blueberry tea (I’ve been finding all kinds of wonderful teas since I’ve been doing this juice feast) and headed down to the basement to do a bit of work. As Travis Bickle once said, “I can’t sleep, so I my as well get paid for it”.

I ended up getting a little more sleep later on in the day, which was well needed.

I met up with my wife for a cup of tea downtown - I had a strawberry rooibos, and very nice it was too. My wife had her favourite, a chai latte, and very nice it is too.

I picked up another supplement today whilst downtown: bee pollen granules, they’re supposed to be pretty nutrient dense, lots of B12 and that kind of thing, and they don’t taste too bad either, which is always a nice bonus. You can get pretty tired of things that don’t taste too good on this diet let me tell you.

We went for a walk later in the day too, and winter really is on it’s way here now. The mountain tops were all covered with snow today and look fantastic, and the temp was nice and crisp and cold. Good stuff.

One of the reasons we moved to Canada, and Fernie in particular was the 4 seasons that you get, and each one has something attractive about it.

Well, I’m going to finish off with a bit of tech news, and let you know that soon I’ll be writing this on a refurbished macbook pro. That’s right, I’m going mac. My vista machine has a tendency to run really sluggishly sometimes, and even crash, which for me and my work is not on. It’s not on for anyone really, but when it’s your bread and butter, and you use it all day it gets pretty tiresome. So I’ve order a macbook pro, which will hopefully be here by the end of the week :)

I still  need to run some windows stuff, but I can do that on the mac, so I guess my dell / vista will be my backup for while. There - that was interesting wasn’t it? :)

Right, gonna sign off now and try and get a decent sleep.

I hear you loud and clear on the “you can get pretty tired of things that don’t taste too good” track. I admire your all greens regimine. I find I have to add apples to some of them to make them palatable. And celery juice straight up, that’s medicinal stuff. Get some sleep. I know its out on a limb, but get an eye pillow with lavendar in it. When I am fried from work and absolutely need sleep, it works like a charm. Forgive somebody and/ or delegate something run a close second to getting more sleep too.

Hey Bee,

Thanks for the advice :) I’ll have to check out eye pillows. I’d forgotten about lavender - I’ll sprinkle some on my regular pillow tonight and see how it goes.

Delegation and forgiveness too - interesting ideas. I’ll work on those.

All the best,

Chris.
