Day #46: Half way up the mountain…

My sugars were 4.3 this morning.

I was always a glass is half full and half empty kind of guy. And the connotations to either needn’t be positive or negative. You could say for example, complainingly: “Well it’s only half full, it’s not full” and you could say “Hey don’t worry, it’s only half empty, there still plenty left”.

So thinking that the glass is half empty isn’t always a bad thing.

Now then… the mountain. Eagle mountain as I like to call it. I’m halfway up, and that’s a good thing, but there’s also a side of me (just call me Harvey Dent) that isn’t so keen on the fact that I’m only halfway through. That means that everything I’ve just done, I’ve got to do again - holy #^*@!

Except I don’t do I? I don’t have to do 3 weeks of first thing in the morning enemas, and I’ve got a routine now, allbeit sometimes excruciating hard to deal with. So I’m just going to plod on, drink up and keep going. Like I’ve said before, I don’t have any choice. Giving up is not an option for me.

Eagle Mountain - why Eagle Mountain? Well one of my heroes, Myamoto Musashi, battled against the elements and his mind to conquer Eagle Mountain, and for me I’ve always felt that the only way I’m going to beat this is to embark on what I feel is an epic struggle, something I can do and achieve, something to conquer.

So this is my Eagle Mountain, and I’m halfway up.

Back to the here and now, I worked pretty hard today, too much screen staring I think too. I just went out for a nice brisk walk and I’m going to hit the sack now, get some well deserved kip, ready fo the second leg of my journey.

Good night, and may we all conquer our own Eagle Mountains.
